Schools are looking for ways to teach resilience as part of the new statutory requirements for Health Education. We can help you, help them choose the right approach. COVID-19 has propelled the need for students to be taught resilience skills as they return to schools so they can grow from the situation and thrive in life. Teach Resilience is a 1-day online training that prepares teachers to deliver six evidence-based resilience lessons, three follow-up sessions are provided as they begin teaching the lessons to support and refine the teaching and learning.

Raise Resilience

We are encouraging parents to stay safe at home and teach resilience as part of the homeschooling day. We believe this will help parents and children at a time when they need it most. Developing resilience allows us to deal with uncertainty and get through challenging times in the best possible way. Raise Resilience is delivered as six 1-hour sessions to build parents resilience and provide learning materials to practice with their children. To date, 100’s parents from across the country have taken part.

“The course has been really useful in terms of practical application – we have had a few forms of therapy to help with anxiety and other mental health challenges for my 11yr old, but this approach is looking promising!”

“It’s so useful having the mechanisms that can become second nature for dealing with situations as they arise. Knowing that empathy and flexibility is not a weakness in parenting, but builds connections.”

Healthy Minds

We worked with the London School of Economics, with funding for the Education Endowment Foundation, to develop a programme of study that can be built into the secondary school timetable. The idea is that teaching Healthy Minds is a key part of the school curriculum, taught by professional teachers and considered as part of whole school improvement. This highly evidence-based programme starts with developing resilience skills, that are returned to each year through secondary school. Then essential topics such as navigating social media, mental health and mindfulness are designed to enhance students’ wellbeing. Schools can achieve the Bounce Forward Healthy Minds Kitemark which is endorsed by the London School of Economics.
