Course Overview

Session 1: Personal mental health and wellbeing

Mental wellbeing doesn’t mean being happy all of the time. It is the sense of feeling good about ourselves and being able to function well as individuals and in our daily lives. It is our ability to cope well in the face of adversity and make the most of opportunities. Looking after our personal wellbeing has to start with understanding why it is important.

Session 2: Optimism during uncertainty

The way we interpret situations has a significant impact on the way we respond to challenges and setbacks. Exploring the link between what we think and how we feel behave and how this can help us work through uncertain times. Flexible and realistic thinking enables us to do the ‘right’ thing at the right time, so we achieve the best possible outcome.

Session 3: Resilient relationships

We are social beings and our relationships matter, so does our ability to build and maintain constructive relationships. Focusing on compassion and kindness can feel like a weak approach but it is an effective way to not only build new connections, but also to strengthen existing relationships. Playing to our strengths can improve personal relationships too.
