Bounce Forward is delighted to announce our involvement in creating social value as part of Gravity.

The Gravity project will establish a smart campus that delivers a new era of possibility for social interaction, economic growth and sustainable environments.

It is located near to Bridgwater, south of Bristol. It will establish a smart campus – a place to work, live and play. Gravity is an amazing development that will create a new location for clean, large-scale advanced manufacturing industries and it will enable people who work on the site to also live there – it is ‘a blueprint for a smarter, greener future’. It will be one of the most sustainable and smart campuses in Europe.

Gravity wants to design the area in a way that benefits humanity, reduces our environmental impact, including delivering on mitigating climate change, and responds to future demands of people by creating a brilliant new place and space. The focus is on creating a UK destination for inward investment and specifically to target large scale advanced manufacturing. Gravity’s ambition is to create a sustainable, connected campus and community, which will create up to 7,500 jobs.

Bounce Forward are excited to be working and supporting local schools as part of the development. We will be working with them to build a shared language and understanding of emotional resilience and how it can build young people’s (and the adults around them) the capacity to thrive.

Sedgemoor schools are invited to fully funded CPD on building personal resilience in children and young people. Register your place here.

The first activity is the Gravity Design Competition which is inviting young people to play a part in the development of Gravity. The competition will ask students aged 9 – 18 to design a space that helps drive behaviour that protects the planet, promotes clean growth and inspires businesses and people to want to work and live there.

We are delighted to be working with MOBIE, an organisation founded by Architect and TV Presenter George Clarke in 2017 to inspire young people to revolutionise the way we think about homes. George believes that younger generations need to define how they want to live now and in the future, and MOBIE helps them do it.

Integral to the Gravity Design Competition, Bounce Forward will work with teachers and students to develop emotional resilience. The aim is to build understanding and develop their resilience capacity so their designs include elements that encourage human connection and that support healthy habits for individuals and the wider community. This new era of possibilities offers the design of ‘space’ in a way that is aligned with humanity’s best interest. An environment that people care about, want to work, live and spend time in, so they thrive.
