Bridgewater and Taunton College formed a partnership with the University of Bristol to supercharge workforce development, revolutionising the immediate and long-term workforce requirement, research priority areas and skills gaps for green goals and a net zero economy.  Students attending the college need to be equipped and supported to meet technological advancements, innovation and the pace of change in today’s global economy.  Their ability to respond to change and be mentally resilient was identified as a priority.  

Bounce Forward psychological fitness

…training goes beyond traditional academic education to focus on transforming mental health and nurturing psychological fitness. This comprehensive approach provides evidence-based programmes designed and adapted for people of all ages, ensuring that everyone can benefit from strategies that promote mental and emotional well-being.  

Through the Local Skills Improvement Fund, Bridgwater and Taunton College invited Bounce Forward to deliver a train-the-trainer of resilient Futures for staff fro teh college, and wider stakeholders including Bristol Port, Stantec and This is Gravity. 

 

Resilient Futures Programme

By building positive mental health skills, the Resilient Futures programme empowers individuals to live healthier, more fulfilling lives. With a focus on resilience and adaptability, these training programmes help people thrive, equipping them with the tools to handle life’s challenges while fostering a mentally and emotionally healthy mindset.

Bounce Forward’s ‘train the trainer’ programme equipping education providers and industry with the skills to build resilient futures within their organisations.

Resilient Futures is designed for people aged 16-24.  It focuses on the important role our thoughts and beliefs play in strengthening self-identity, maximising current opportunities and expanding future potential. 

  • Session 1: Hope and optimism.

  • Session 2: Human connection, self-awareness and compassion. 

  • Session 3: Flexible and realistic thinking.

  • Session 4: communication and playing to strengths.
