BBC Breakfast visits The Leigh Academy

The Leigh Academy welcomed BBC Breakfast to interview students and staff about the importance of teaching resilience and life skills alongside their academic subjects.

The new education secretary, Damien Hinds has highlighted early in his new role that “soft skills’ are essential learning in schools. He said the “hard reality” is that teaching children how to build “character resilience” and workplace skills is crucial for a thriving economy.”

We were delighted to see the excellent work and commitment to this at The Leigh Academy highlighted on BBC Breakfast News this week. The film covers the school’s commitment to the Healthy Minds curriculum. They interviewed students and staff about the importance of healthy minds and resilience in young people.
